Burned Playing Chicken

Source: ESPN

Over the last year, Antonio Brown had been a thorn in the side for Pittsburgh Steelers. Brown forced his way off the team with his antics. Then, the Oakland Raiders accepted him with open arms and paid Brown handsomely. Brown’s contract is worth $50,125,000 with $30,125,000 guaranteed plus a $1,000,000 signing bonus for 3 years.

One would think that would motivate Antonio Brown to stop being a thorn and start being more blessing. A situation arose with the use of Brown’s helmet as the NFL had determined Brown’s helmet of 9 years had an expired life use. Brown, who had a legitimate complaint, ruined the legitimacy of the complaint by saying he would retire if the League denied his appeal to continue using his helmet.

Well, Brown lost his appeal. Now, will he keep his word and retire? Nope. He’s not forfeiting any of the money the Raiders promised him. Darn. Maybe this time he will learn how to play chicken the right way in the National Football League. Or, better yet, maybe he will learn not to play chicken at all. Bok bok, ___. . . .*
