Hockey has always been too white and too limiting, not just at the NHL level but at all levels of the sport. Unfortunately, I witnessed it in minor hockey in the years I was coaching. I saw it with black players and brown players and Asian players and Jewish players and female players. I saw it in Toronto and in smaller Ontario towns. I saw it in America, in tournaments in Detroit or Pittsburgh or Rochester or Buffalo.~Steve Simmons
