With the increase of COVID-19 cases increasing across the United States, it seems irresponsible for teams to allow fans into stadiums. There are currently more than 8.5 million cases of novel coronavirus with over 224,301 deaths at this moment. The rate of increase is currently holding steady at 19.1% at the current time according to the CDC.
So, why on Earth are football teams–both college and professional–even considering allowing fans to attend games? While those who taking COVID-19 seriously are wearing masks, a quick peek at the news lets one know too many U.S. citizens are still not considering this a serious matter for themselves, their families, their friends or other fellow citizens of the United States. So, the question remains why are teams allowing fans at their games?
It seems irresponsible to host fans currently at stadiums. And yes, we have governors, mayors, senators, representatives who think it is okay for folks to go about life as normal. In most of these same states, the spread of the virus is a stupid high number. The disregard for human life over normalcy and the almighty dollar is astonishing.
And there are many folks who have voiced their opinions who are much smarter than I could ever hope to be. For instance:
DeSantis is the worst person in government besides the President. I have family in Florida and this pisses me off. https://t.co/QhfVhzlVzr
